What usually stops people asking
- “It will be too expensive.”
- It is a serious amount of money and we will not pretend otherwise — but you can ask the price on WhatsApp before travelling anywhere, and treatment can usually be staged so it is not all paid at once.
- “I am frightened it will hurt.”
- It is done under local anaesthetic, so you feel pressure rather than pain. Afterwards, two to three days of soreness that ordinary painkillers handle. Most patients say a difficult extraction was worse.
- “Another clinic said I have too little bone.”
- That is the most common reason people are turned away, and it is frequently not the end of it. Grafting, sinus lifts and angled placement are all done here. Bring the X-ray and we will tell you straight.

An implant is a titanium screw placed into the jawbone where the root of the missing tooth used to be. Bone grows onto titanium and locks it in place, and a crown is then fixed on top. It does not come out, it does not involve touching the neighbouring teeth, and it is looked after exactly like a normal tooth.
There is a second reason implants matter that patients are rarely told. The jawbone where a tooth is lost begins to shrink, because nothing is loading it any more. Over years that changes the shape of the face around the mouth. An implant loads the bone and largely stops that.
At this clinic implants are placed by Dr Suveet Mathur, an MDS oral and maxillofacial surgeon with a fellowship in immediate loading — the technique where the implant and a temporary tooth go in during the same procedure, rather than waiting months with a gap.

Assessment and X-ray
We check bone height and width, and the position of the nerve and sinus. This determines whether a graft is needed.

Placement
The implant is placed under local anaesthetic. Most patients are surprised how straightforward the appointment is.

Healing
Three to six months for bone to fuse to the implant. With immediate loading, a temporary tooth is fitted at once so you are never without one.

Crown fitting
The permanent crown is made to match your other teeth and fixed onto the implant.

Is the procedure painful?
It is done under local anaesthetic, so no pain during. Afterwards expect soreness for two to three days, manageable with ordinary painkillers. Most patients describe it as easier than a difficult extraction.
How long do implants last?
Decades, and often for life, if the gums are kept healthy and you do not smoke. The implant itself does not decay. What fails implants is gum disease around them and smoking — both within your control.
What if I do not have enough bone?
That is common where a tooth has been missing for years. Bone grafting or a sinus lift rebuilds the site first. Dr Suveet does both here — it adds time to the plan rather than ruling implants out.
Why do implant prices vary so much between clinics?
Mostly the implant system. Established brands with long-term research and guaranteed parts availability cost more than unbranded ones — and that matters in twenty years when a component needs replacing and has to still exist. We will tell you exactly which system we are quoting for.
Can I get the tooth on the same day?
Sometimes. Immediate loading requires enough solid bone to hold the implant firmly from the start. Where it is possible it avoids months with a visible gap. We can only confirm after the X-ray.
